I've had this quilt for quite some time, and have kept it close. Why? Because it makes me smile every time I look at it. It's "Sunbonnet Sue Parade." Happy quilt!
Just yesterday, the Sue with an American Flag asked me to liberate her (and her sisters). She said they had work to do making sure everyone is able to vote in November! Of course I agreed.
Beautifully made, with great attention to detail. Note that the color of the bonnets match each Sues' hems, belts, and sleeves. Each bonnet has hand embroidered design, unique to that Sue.
Densely hand quilted, and in excellent condition.
Follow the leader ... if you can figure out which Sue is Top Dog. The one with the flag? The one with the pennant dated 1931? I think it may be the red one holding her "pocketbook" ... she looks "on her way," and very determined.
