A graphically superb, likely Southern, quilt from an important California collection of antique quilts that I recently received for my inventory.
In very good condition, with the occasional spot. Strong and sturdy cotton fabrics.
Well executed hand quilting in dark thread organized in the Fans or Clamshell design, this also has a solid-color cotton back (common to Southern quilts). The half block feature is something we also see in quilts made in the South.
Here an experience and skilled maker found a spectacular way to use her many, many printed and solid color scraps. I'm enjoying seeing this new acquisition in my shop!
