I've not seen a "Seven Sisters" quilt set this way before. We generally see it as multiple sets of seven stars stint a kind of medallion Imagine this overall design miniaturized and organized in say 20 blocks of seven stars. (See last photo.)

Fine hand stitching in a tight crosshatch grid covers the surface. The maker used more than one purple print, some of which held its very intense color to this day.

Excellent condition -- strong and sturdy, thin and lightweight. The interior makes a whirling star medallion, which, framed with five straight edge borders, makes an unusual graphic statement.
