This handsome turn-of-the-20th century quilt has extraordinary hand quilting which can be difficult to see from afar. The maker chose small, endearing clamshells as her quilting designs, and executed it at an impressive 9 stitches per inch, counting one side only.
The quilt maker could also boast careful and precise piecing, and an eye for design. I really like her choice of a white ground for the pots of Lilies.
The printed blue fabrics are dark indigoes with clearly printed white figures.
Thin and lightweight, with a narrow binding for a finish, it is in Excellent Condition.
