A graphically striking example of "Currants and Coxcombs," a traditional design I like very much. Here, I appreciate the density of the appliquéd designs, as well as the careful resolving of the corners. There is simple hand quilting.

A careful examination shows that some of the hand applique work is "inexpert". There are a very few places where the color has lifted, but for me, none of that reduces the graphic impact of this mid-19th century piece.
