Snake Quilt
Unidentified Quilt Maker
Circa 1940s-1950s
70 x 80 inches
Found in New Mexico
Technically a "Robbing Peter to Pay Paul" construction, when the quilt maker organized the solid red pieces to create a sinewy line, it's commonly called "Snake."
There are some wonderful mid-20th century printed all-cotton fabrics throughout, and the quilt maker's choice to use a red and white stripe for the back and the binding is just plain super.
Hand quilted and in excellent condition.
