When the Border shares "Center Stage" with the Main Design ...
A popular pattern with 19th century quilt makers, "Ocean Waves" is composed of half-square-triangles, often worked in only two colors.
This quilt maker made the unusual choice of blowing up the scale of a zigzag border surrounding the otherwise classic patchwork design, making her quilt quite the memorable one.
Quilt is in sturdy, intact condition except for the separately applied Double Pink print binding, which is a bit rough. Hand quilted in small, even stitches.
