Start with a traditional pieced quilt design ~ not an easy one to execute, with its curved seams and elongated points. But still, you're skilled and you sew it in very pleasing colors. Then sash the center in triple bars, and set a complex star in each intersection.
Now fill the large triangular surrounds with hundreds of half-square triangles in just the right colors, and you have made yourself a masterful and super-memorable "Mariner's Compass" quilt.
Hand quilted, and in except for a few light stains, in excellent condition. It can be yours ... Go for it!
