Log Cabin, Light and Dark
Unidentified Quilt Maker
76 x 76 inches
Found in Pennsylvania
Excellent, Crisp Condition
A wonderful array of late 19th century printed cottons, fabrics ~ the kind that were widely available and used for clothing, for household items ... and for quilts.
This quilt is lightweight ~ a summer quilt. No batting. The quilt maker
backed it with a beautiful butter-scotch-y print, and then added a separate binding of a very pretty rust red and white print. (See photo.)
Condition is Excellent.
The fabrics, many of them madder dyed prints, are intact. I can envision this quilt being lifted out of a Pennsylvania trunk ~ old ... but new.
