Log Cabin, Light and Dark
Unidentified Quilt Maker
76 x 76 inches
Found in Pennsylvania
Excellent, Crisp Condition
A wonderful array of late 19th century printed cottons, fabrics ~ the kind that were widely available and used for clothing, for household items ... for Quilts.
This quilt is tied and lightweight ~ a summer quilt. No batting. The quilt maker
backed it with a beautiful butter-scotch-y print, and then added a separate binding of a very pretty rust red and white print. (See photo.)
Condition is Excellent.
The quilt appears to be little used, or perhaps not at all. The fabrics, many of them madder dyed prints, are intact. I can envision this quilt being lifted out of a Pennsylvania trunk ~ old ... but new.
