Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilt
Unknown Quilt Maker
Circa 1940
76 x 78 inches
Origin Unknown; Found in California
A very pretty, quite pastel-y example of "Grandmothers Flower Garden." The pattern became popular during the Depression years, and a bit beyond -- perhaps because it could accommodate small scraps of fabric into a cohesive overall design.
Hand quilted and of a relatively generous size. The lightly scalloped edge is separately bound with cotton. It has a few stains, see photos. Otherwise in very good, sturdy condition.
