Unidentified Quilt Maker
78 x 78 inches
Found in Washington State
The maker of this stunning nineteenth century quilt used several different deep indigo cotton prints in piecing her twenty five "Goose Tracks" blocks.
By using only one indigo print for the alternate blocks and outer border, and by setting the blocks "on point," she achieved a very pleasing whole.
Hand Quilted ~ the designs are not elaborate, but the quilting is so tiny and even. Looks like 11 stitches to the inch (counting one side only).
