Tied quilts are often unappreciated. Some think that tying quilts is a "shortcut" -- rather than an intended part of the overall aesthetic of the quilt. It would be difficult to argue "shortcut" here!
"Over-tied" is a term I use when the number of ties exceed what is practically needed to hold three layers together. Yep, this one is seriously over-tied. The zillions of ties here are a major feature of the graphic success of the piece. In fact, there is also some machine quilting hidden amongst them.
In Excellent Condition. A heavy quilt that will keep someone warm, or delight the eyes if hung on a wall.
