I'm so intrigued with this abstract quilt which is unusual, graphically cool. The fabrics are wools ~ light, dress-weight wools that are not challis.
The colors are ones we don't see so much in the wool quilts of the first half of the 20th century, which are so often deep and even dark. This one, made with an economy of materials and design elements, has a light touch, and easy going charm. The delicate hand embroidery seems just right.
Nicely hand quilted in diagonal, parallel lines that, in the center, mimic the shape of the half square triangles, organized into a kind of Zig Zag.
