Unidentified Quilt Maker

Don't we wish we knew the story of this remarkable quilt, and its maker? Just
who might s/he have been?
Gazillions of pieces, all of them cotton. S/he had a vast array of 1930s and
'40s scraps of printed cottons. And ... s/he had some strong
solid-color pieces to scatter about.
Excellent Condition with no holes or worn or wearing fabrics.
The quilt could use a bath. It is not dirty, dirty, but needs freshening. Normally I'd hand wash it. But the batt, plus all those seams, result in a moderately
heavy quilt, and I decided against washing it because it's a bit unwieldy for me.
The back is a cotton flannel. Hand quilted in the Fan or Clamshell design.
That design ~ what a concept!
