World War II Era
During World War II, when our troops were overseas, quilt makers back home were making a variety of quilts with patriotic themes or colors: flag quilts, eagle quilts, airplane quilts and more ... expressing their love and support.
This quilt maker chose red, white, and blue, (and just a tiny dab of orange) in her 1940s Airplane quilt . What a good idea to use striped fabrics ~ which amplify the overall patriotic feel.
This little treasure is a tidy size: 60 x 75 inches. A good size for hanging on a wall, using on a single bed, or cuddling under on the sofa.
Hand quilted ... and in Excellent condition.
