There are so many wonderful things about this quilt!
First, a very pleasing design ... the color, combination of colors, the "just-right" ratio of appliqué to white, the alternating "bouquets" in the (also alternating) appliquéd flower pots.
The quilt maker framed the appliquéd central garden with borders of a stylized vine of flowers and leaves. Red and cheddar flowers in the border mimic those in the center, bringing a relaxed, casual order to the design.
S/he also hand quilted this little treasure, executing very small even stitches in a dense crosshatch design.
This Southern treasure remains in Excellent Condition.
