Field of Diamonds
Unidentified Quilt Maker
76 x 93 inches
Found in California
Excellent Condition: Crisp
Composed entirely of hexagons, the "Field of Diamonds" design is a close cousin to the classic "Grandmother's Flower Garden."
A generous size, this beauty is in also in Crisp, Near-Mint condition.
The quilt maker hand sewed a separate binding to the "serrated" edge, using a Jade or Nile Green solid, a color we see frequently in quilts of this era. The color works well, matching the interior diagonal "sashing."
Check out a very unusual feature: the quadruple hexies s/he included in the "fill" sections on the edges.
Hand quilted in well executed, even stitches. Ready to go!
