Lone Star
Unidentified Quilt Maker
Circa 1940
70 x 78 inches
Found in Texas
Excellent Condition
A Great "Lone Star" Quilt ... found in the Lone Star State ~ Texas!
The large single Star, composed of diamond shapes, has many names.
Lone Star is the most common but it is also known as "Star of the East,"
"Blazing Star," "Star of Bethlehem" ~ and a few others.
I'm thinking that "Blazing Star" may be the best name for this spectacular, bold,
all cotton example, made circa 1940.
The quilt is in Excellent Condition, has tons of tiny pieces, and is
hand quilted.
There's truly not too much I can add about this spectacular Texas quilt
that isn't apparent in the photos.
