A cheery mid-20th century pieced quilt, in Excellent Condition, made from a splendid array of Depression era printed fabrics - all of them cottons.
The design was published in the newspapers, and called "Star of the East" -- published under the name of designer "Laura Wheeler," (an alias or "pen name"). See last photo for the newspaper showing it.
This quilt maker took the extra time to add a separate Nile Green binding to the scalloped edges. The quilt is thin and lightweight, and lightly hand quilted. Makes me happy just looking at it.
