Cups and Saucers (Variation) Crib Quilt
Unidentified Quilt Maker
Circa 1950
46 x 52 inches
Found in Denver, CO
Very Good Condition
This quilt is said to have come out of an African American home in Denver. Without more information, we can't really know about its maker or origin.
I bought it because I love the graphics: its line, form and color. The quilt is tied (liberally), with green yarn. Those ties pick up and amplify the greens in the patchwork and enliven the surface.
The quilt maker used only cotton fabrics; the rosy-pink printed fabric dates to
mid-twentieth century.
Measuring 46 x 52 inches, it's a great size for hanging on a wall, or,
of course, whatever you choose.
Except for a small snag in the bottom right corner (see photos), this nifty quilt
is in Excellent Condition
