This quilt maker believed in the power of framing.
Not only did s/he give each star get its own perfect half square triangle frame, but the entire center field has even more bordering: First, an inner border of a chain of indigo diamonds, followed by an elegant serpentine turkey red motif that she stuffed!
Check out how carefully this red border was measured to elegantly turn all four corners. And finally another chain of diamonds, finished with a separately applied indigo print binding.
And as if the attention to detail of the surface design were not enough, s/he added intricate, superb quilting in elaborate designs which alone would make this quilt a shining and lovely work.
