Spiderweb
Unidentified Quilt Maker
Circa 1930

Origin Unknown
There's so many great things about this circa 1930 patchwork quilt. Starting with its excellent condition -- having no notable issues -- to its exceptionally fine and dense hand quilting.
The tiny hand stitches are visible in the photo I posted below, with an American quarter for scale. You may also see the light pencil lines that remain, having been originally applied to mark the elaborate quilting designs.
The quilt-maker floated the jewel-like Spiderweb (string) designs on a white ground leaving lots of space for each block to sparkle. The generous border is just the right width to contain (and reflect) the thirty blocks. Quilt includes so many printed fabrics which typify its era.
