Beautifully hand quilted and quite grand in size (96 x 96 inches), this mid-19th century applique quilt could work well on a modern bed. And, of course, gorgeous on a large wall. The dense outer border resolves symmetrically in each corner.
Excellent condition with sturdy, intact fabrics; the quilt is thin and lightweight. There are some light stains in two small areas as seen in photos below.
The maker of this quilt had been around the block (quilt block?)... s/he had excellent needlework skills and a fine sense of design.
