Made early tp mid-19th century, and with the initials LSA in counted cross-stitch on the back, this beauty is exceedingly large: measuring 105 x 114 inches. It would be used on a modern bed (Standard King is 76 x 80 inches.)
The printed fabric that makes up the Stars, as well as the gorgeous chintz outer border are all in intact condition, with no tears, holes, nor apparent weakening. The solid white ground has some toning here and there, and the ocassional spot The white, too, is entirely intact.
Beautiful hand quilting throughout, weighing in at 9 -10 fine, even stitches per inch. Decorative designs include four lobed "pumpkin seeds," chevrons and more.
