I have heard this design called "Blanket of Stars," and though I'm not sure it was ever a traditional name, it so fits this early, quiet quilt.
Organized in Nine Patch sections, the Stars here are made with a variety of mid-19th century printed fabrics, some of which date to as early as 1860.
The design, lovely color, and gorgeous fabrics take center stage here, but the quilt has good hand quilting in nice even stitches. Thin and lightweight.
