Found in New Mexico; Probably Pennsylvania
This beauty has many hallmarks of classic Pennsylvania German quilts, with its printed cottons, bright colors, and a printed cotton back. The double blue print, popularly known as "Lancaster Blue," is another clue as to its PA origin.
Somewhat unusual is that this "Barn Raising" variation of Log Cabin is machine quilted. The quilting is quite dense, executed in crosshatch designs. The multiple borders including a Sawtooth, make a strong edge.
Excellent Condition – the quilt is crisp, thin, and lightweight. Of a generous size, 82 inches square. The only apology is that it looks like the separately applied Double Pink binding is slightly tight, so the quilt does not lay absolutely flat. May be better, then, for a bed than for the wall.
