"Snowflake" Applique Quilt, ex-Merry Silber Collection

My Mom always called this her "Snowflake" quilt, and I can see why, but I'm not sure if that it is a traditional name for the appliqué design. It was part of her large collection of 19th century indigo and white quilts.
I really like the way the quilt maker formatted the pieced borders. By adding an Hourglass block in each corner, it looks like some directional arrows.
Recently washed, professionally, it is bright and clean. In Excellent Condition with the occasional spot. Hand quilted in tiny, even stitches; see the close up photo.
