I always like an understated quilt! (Well, you all know I like them OVER stated too!)
This maker found a cool way to organize the setting and colors of her Bowtie blocks. The design expands and dissolves into various secondary designs.
I am also drawn to the casual way s/he brought the back to the front to finish the edges and to the way s/he sashed the blocks. Our friend Roderick Kiracofe calls it kind of setting a "Broken Grid."
Full of plaids, ginghams and other fabrics associated with the era just following the turn of the 20th century, the aesthetic here is subtle and rather humble. Within the quiet lies the art of it. In Excellent Condition.
