This unusual "Pots of Flowers" quilt presented a bit of a mystery. The Pots and Flowers are unlike other American appliqué designs in ways I could not put my finger on. The fabric with which it is made is unfamiliar. Cotton, but strangely nubby. I'm not even sure how to date the quilt.
I put an image of the quilt into Google Lens, and -- of all things! A photo of this quilt appears on one of Martha Stewart's blogs in 2022. She photographed it at an antique show. Sadly though, she gives no specific information about the quilt.
Good, sturdy condition, but with some noticeable fading around the edges. Additionally the red dyes appear to have migrated over time, but evenly -- giving the quilt a soft, overall pinkish hue.
Measuring 54 inches square, it's a good size for hanging.
