Bursting Star Quilt
Unidentified Quilt Maker
Circa 1910
62 x 74 inches
Origin Unknown; Found in Kentucky
The "Baptist Fan" or Clamshell hand quilting here is among the densest and finest in that design that I have seen.
The back is a cotton furnishing print, and the quiltmaker brought it around to created the binding.
There are some (apparently water) stains on this wonderful quilt (see photos), but it is otherwise in great condition. A Southern beauty!
