There are many wonderful things about this pre-Civil War quilt. That's a great printed cotton fabric in sawtooth strips, and the quilt maker added extensive, elaborate dense hand quilting. Check out the photos below.
However, there are significant condition issues with this old beauty. There are several places where the printed fabric has started to wear, and someone thought to cover the entire front of the quilt has had netting added. See the photos ~ I tried to show the story.
