Crisp! Appears never used or washed. A 1940s "Ocean Waves" quilt with thousands of small pieces and a sparking array of depression era printed cottons.
Beautifully hand quilted in nice even stitches, densely executed, a grid of hanging diamonds measuring about 8 - 9 stitches per inch (counting side only.)
The maker chose a very cool border of triangles that appear as rhombuses (rhombi?) set side by side, giving the appearance of a colorful ribbon running down two long sides of the quilt. Visually satisfying ...
