I've been hanging on to this small 20th century piece because it so pleases me. I have it displayed on the shop wall. But, "girding my loins," as my Mom used to say -- I've decided to offer it For Sale. (I'm a BIG Girl!)
I love the tiny scale of the "log" pieces in relation to the whole. Lotta pieces! And the way s/he did the sashing with what looks like ribbons. So cool.
Primarily rayons, with a bold floral printed back fabric, and a second bold floral fabric as the border.
The quilts is both hand quilted ... and machine quilted.
Somewhere amongst the thousand and thousands of pieces are a few that have started to shatter. It's difficult to find them because there is so much going on, and each piece is surrounded by two other strong ones.
A nice surprise was to find that each square is decoratively embroidered with single strand white thread -- look closely at my detail shots for this very unusual feature, and to see if you might see any condition issues. This little gem displays beautifully!
