It's quite unusual to see solid chocolate brown as a major color in mid-20th century quilts like this Grandmother's Fan. More often the repeated color is Nile or Jade green, butter yellow, pink or medium blue.
This sturdy example is precisely pieced and has excellent hand quilting throughout. It is quite visible in the brown "handles" of each Fan, and it is equally well executed in the white areas.
Thin and lightweight with sturdy, intact cotton fabrics. This well made quilt would work nicely on a bed or on a wall.
